Trains
Luray is a train town. We can’t get away from them. The hostel is across the street from train tracks. Cargo trains do run at all hours and most night conductors are courteous of sleepers. However, there is a cross over about 300 yards from the hostel. Since safety is of utmost importance, the whistle blows in front of the hostel when trains are traveling out of town.
Outfitters
Our quaint little town is fortunate enough to have an outfitter store, stocked with all of your camping and hiking needs. Please visit Appalachian Outdoors Adventures in the center of town.
Real beds . . . with real sheets!
ABOUT THE OWNER

Alison Coltrane
Owner & Innkeeper
Alison is a former teacher who left the profession in order to pursue the dream of running a hostel. The dream was 3 years in the making and is now fulfilled and very fulfilling! Ask her to tell the story of its making! She is a true believer of Law of Attraction and Deliberate Creation. The part-time member of the household is Lee, a student at Christopher Newport University (CNU). He is in the 5-year masters program for Environmental Sciences. Go CNU! Our other home bodies are Molly, Socks, and Hammster, the true ‘owners’ of the house. Molly is the ‘fluff nugget,’ while Socks is the sleek gray and white. Hammster is the red-haired step-child and can be a little temperamental, but is harmless.
House Rules
We are so glad that you chose to stay with us in our home. There are a few things you should know. Our House Rules are few and they are extremely important.
INTEGRITY – Use it!
We define it as, “Doing the right thing, all the time, no matter what, and no matter who’s watching.”

- Smoking is allowed… outside. The porches are lovely this time of year!
